Is there any hope for FIFA? I think not...
Discussion
As a lifelong footie fan I want the governance of the beautiful game to be effective and professional. What we currently have is an organisation that is institutionally corrupt, and having dispensed with two dictators (Havelange was just as bad as Blatter) it seems as though they are about to elect the next in line, with the same opportunities for corruption as before. The problem is -as before- that it is the vested interests of all the small national representatives to elect somebody to maintain the status quo to ensure the continued lining of their pockets.
I fear the only real way to rid ourselves of this corruption is for the leading football nations of this world to boycott the World Cup and start over with a new evolutionary and revolutionary organisation.
I know this subject has been discussed on here at length, but the election of a new FIFA supremo seems an appropriate time to resurrect that discussion.

I was just about to post on the very subject - I get that when looking at a world wide organisation there will be some bad apples.
But the thought of FIFA (which, to it's credit has taken a positive, public stance on some subjects such as anti-racism and LGBT rights) going to a man that is part of a ruling dynasty with a terrible human rights record means I find myself almost pining for Sepp back!!!

So after the first vote - No overall winner
Nobody got the 138 required.
Tokyo Sexwhale - dropped out this morning
Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein - 27 votes
Shk. Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa - 85
Jerome Champagne - 7
Gianni Infantino - 88
So another round of votes. 104 votes will win it. If still no one wins - one with least votes drops out and another round of votes is done.

I can see Al Khalifa winning it, but I can't see supporters gaining from this. When the vote for the World Cup hosting was on, Blatter was heard to say not to forget it was English media causing problems (at the time). Now, I think we've known for a long time he is a crook, but it took a lot of votes to decide a host nation.
So if you look at Russia and Qatar being host nations, it is not unreasonable to suspect a lot of money was given to a lot of people to ease the process along. Most of those people are still there.

^ Yep, and good as shares a local pub with Sepp Blatter.
Hmm.
Thats 10% that are either corrupt themselves or that live at the bottom of the sea.

Apparently 23 members voted that FIFA didn't need reform.
First act for Infantino should be striking this lot off straight away. Thats 10% that are either corrupt themselves or that live at the bottom of the sea.
