I thought for a long time they should do this. Better for the fans to only have to pay one fee to one provider, and hopefully better for clubs and the PL to cut out the middleman and share more of the profits.

My guess is that it's not going to happen, and it's been raised as a possibility as an opening gambit for the next lot of negotiations with BT & Sky.

I dunno. If the article is to be believed then the broadcasters are making a lot of profit on showing PL games around the world. And the Premier League likes to be greedy. Why wouldn't they go for it?
