Damn fking right.

You should ring them up and explain in no uncertain terms that all their research, long term studies and masses of data that have been analysed by many experts in the field must be wrong because in whatever small part of this small country on this small island off the coast of a small continent you live, you're are almost certain that your childhood winters were just so much more magical and snowy than they are today.

That'll show 'em for being coc.s! [sic]

Not only that, but time also moved far more slowly and it stayed lighter in the summer for longer.

half-arsed scienctists trying to justify another year of funding said:
The oscillation is not understood well enough to predict - and even if it were, any pattern it has may be changing due to escalating greenhouse gas concentrations.

Nevertheless, the research suggests that on average, winters in the UK and the rest of the affected region will be colder in years to come than they have been in recent decades.

Various computer simulations have generated a range of dates by which the Arctic might be completely ice-free in summer and autumn, ranging from 2016 to about 2060.

A few years ago, one projection even showed 2013 was possible, though this now appears unlikely.

So a related question is whether UK winters will get colder and snowier still as the melting progresses,

"It's possible that future winters will be colder and snowier, but there are some uncertainties," cautioned Dr Liu.
Which is 5 paragraphs of "We've actually turned up fk all with this study. Sorry."

At one stage it mentions looking at the last 4 years. 4 years?! The earth's climate is measured in cycles of thousands of years. 4 yrs is a fart in a hurricane.

This article is genius from the warmists, don't you see? Global warming is causing the cold weather. More tax please!

This one is even better.

"The key point is that this effect is a change in the circulation, moving air from one place to another, which is why some places get cold and others get warm," said Adam Scaife, one of the researchers on the paper, who heads the UK Met Office's Seasonal to Decadal Prediction team.

"It's a jigsaw puzzle, and when you average it up over the globe, there is no effect on global temperatures," he told BBC News."

WTF?

In both instances, the author is Richard Black. Says it all. Ignore anything the man says, his agenda via the biased BBC is legendary.

Quite.

Richard Black is an activist, not a journalist. I don't understand why he is funded by the license payer.

The fact is that the northern hemisphere has an "average" temperature for any given time of the year. If it is warmer than average here, then it will be colder than average somewhere else.

Historically, if Europe has been warmer than usual, then either North America or Siberia has been colder... and visa versa.

This winter has been cold in Europe, Northern Asia, and in many parts of North America. That means that The Arctic must be warmer than usual.

Richard Black chooses to pretend that this is related to climate change - it isn't.

Next winter might be warmer here and colder in the Arctic. If it is, then Black will be telling us that the unseasonal warmth is down to climate change.

The progressive shrinking of Arctic sea ice is bringing colder, snowier winters to the UK and other areas of Europe, North America and China, a study shows.

As global temperatures have risen, the area of Arctic Ocean covered by ice in summer and autumn has been falling.
OK, so the warmer the Arctic circle stays during winter, the colder it gets in Northern Europe (UK)? I'll humour you on that one.

There was a marked deterioration in ice cover between the summers of 2006 and 2007, which still holds the record for the lowest extent on record; and it has not recovered since.
yikes this sounds really serious. This means that there was lots of cold, snow and ice in the UK during 2007. eek

The current winter is roughly tracking the graph of 2007, according to the US National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC).
Does anyone else spot why this is utter bks?

Surely this means there is hardly any ice in the Arctic, meaning that it must be freezing here and there is lots of snow on the ground and I could barely get out of my house today and I crashed the car into a ditch once I did get out......hmmmm no I didn't, did I? I do believe I was enjoying the sun today.

Scientists are proper bellends. Their research is ste and they constantly contradict themselves.

I remember watching that Scotch tt on the TV not so long back and he was twisting on about the same thing. Then later in the programme came out with the cracking line, "Millions of years ago, the Arctic Circle was like the Mediterranean". Well, fk me if that gives them any credit for all of this wasted time and money. Parasites.

oh yeah totally, most especially all the scientists who did the work that enable vaccinations, MRI, effective pharmaceuticals, Lasers, semiconductors, microelectronics, fibre optics, the internet, plastics and other polymers, lightbulbs, electricity, etc. etc.
