I can't see another post on this topic (which surprises me) ... so here goes ...

The last minute of today (23:59 - 00:00) will have 61 seconds in order to adjust for some variations in the earth's rotation (wobbles).

Also surprised I couldn't see anything on the BBC site.

That's 23:59:60 UTC or 22:59:60 BST

Currently, against my will and every fibre of my being we are required to use BST at this point in the year, so it's the last but one hour of the day.

Nope GMT all year, then the sun is at its zenith at noon (or thereabouts) as it should be, however this argument crops up time and time again on here and no-one ever concedes the point so I'd suggest that we "let it lie".

Oh I got the hour change the wrong way too, it was 00:59:60 this a.m, fool that I am.
