Comets are usually visible over a number of days or weeks. If the skies clear, I presume it should be visible for a couple of days at least. We have a fairly bright moon at the moment which won't help.

Indeed. No (love)joy last night as it was quite cloudy.

Will see how the next few days go. The weather is Atlantic based though so don't have much hope for nice clear skies.

Fingers crossed the clouds clear as predicted and say away long enough.

Lovejoy shot between the gaps in the clouds last night:

Looked good through binos.

The clouds parted for about 10 minutes last night and I managed to get a quick glimpse through the binos. It really was quick though, a bath robe is really not appropriate clothing for astronomy!

I'm hoping the perpetual wind and rain will die down long enough to get the scope out.

After several failed attempts over the last couple of nights, I have finally managed to spot it through a pair of 7x50 binoculars.

My eyesight isn't as good as it used to be, so I couldn't see any colour (some people are reporting a green colour visually). The tail was just on the edge of visibility. Hopefully, it will get brighter over the coming weeks.

Rain and wind have stopped me getting the telescope out and my binoculars got dropped earlier by child number one. I'm hoping the weather clears and that the araldite that I put the binos back together with holds the primary cell in the right place.

I've got the compete set of DVD Lovejoy, I wish they'd make it again, Ian said he might be up for it.

Fantastically clear night here tonight (east Mids) - it's somewhere near Orion then if I want to have a gleg?

Just got the binos out and managed to get a view.

It looks just like a smudge, but I can now say I've seen it.

Yes! smile

Well an update on the binos, knackered, unable to pull a single image in of Jupiter, I can't be bothered to go out with the eight incher.
