What is this type of rock?

I saw this strange looking rock when walking in the Scottish mountains, it appears to be made from a large stone but with lots of crushed rocks of different makeup attached to it .

It's quartz, very common.

Quartz is a mineral, not a rock. It could be a quartz breccia though.

OP - anywhere near Tyndrum/Dalmally?
