Just whizzed out for a look. Bushy Park, so a decent amount of dark sky in S/W London. Pretty sure I saw Mars, Jupiter (near the Moon) and also Saturn. How exciting!

Also “Star Walk” is great, especially on a tablet.

When was it reinstated?

In the interests of diversity, Pluto should be welcomed as a planet. Anything less is planetist.

A dog to a planet is a bit more of a leap though.

It might need some campaigning from the LGQTLBP+ ('P' standing for planet of course). They usually get whatever they want.

Well, Pluto does look a bit unsure of its gender. It's pink for a start and has a lovely big heart feature on its surface -

Giant Pandas have always been bears. I believe red pandas are closely related to racoons, skunks and weasels, which explains why they were pretending to be pandas. Sneaky bds.

When I was a kid (about 100 years ago giant pandas weren't bears.

Taxonomic history

Formerly placed within the Procyonidae (family) (Binida-Emonds 2004)
Ailurus (red or lesser panda) likely remains within this family
