In a few weeks I get the opportunity to deliver four 20 minute assemblies to groups of 11-15 years old about Science.

Last year's was "What is a theory", year before that was "Do you believe what you see", year before that was "Local Science"...

There's a lot of very Science knowledgeable people here, what would you deliver?

(Yes, I am asking you to do my job for me)

How about explaining "The Scientific Method"?

Or perhaps, explain how science is policed and refereed using the peer review system.

Or the nature of publishing in science - and what are the respected scientific publications - and which ones are not.

Would explaining some interesting aspects of science - physics/chemistry/biology/astronomy etc - be too boring?

How does science make you money? What roles can people look to get into with a science degree etc which would hopefully appeal to that age range.

What is science and what's the point?

Imagine a world without science.

No cars, no trains, no aeroplanes, no doctors, no hospitals, no internet, no phones, no solar panels, no plastic, no metal, no radio.

You see science has rather more point than drama studies.

So that could be the title of your talk: 'Imagine a world without science'.
