Hi everyone
I need some advice
I recently had my timing belt kit and water pump replaced on my Honda civic and whilst I was at it I had the fan belt replaced too.
There is now a very annoying whining noise coming from the engine bay. It happens once the engine has warmed up and only when the accelarator is pushed. But other than that is drives fine.
I took it back to the mechanic who who ensured me it was not the timing belt and the it is the fan belt.
He checked the alignment and the tension on the fan belt and all seems fine. He said it just needs time to bed in.
So I was just wondering is he right in the advice he gave?
Could it be the timing belt even though it only squeals when the accelerator is pushed? Or is he correct in saying that the belt just needs time to bed in?
SKF: Timing belt kit
Aisin: Water pump
Dayco: Fan Belt
Many thanks in advance
