Ok....not quite as dodgy as it sounds....

But this sort of thing,

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Engine-Expansion-Plug-Do...

I want to make an airtight seal in a plastic air intake, after I have removed a 1/2" vent pipe to do a mod on my Jeep...this a well worn American Mod, and the part above is on American Ebay....is cheap, but postage is £20....never seen anything like it before, perfect for what I need....anyone know what if it goes by another name over here, or knows if something similar ?

Thank you

I don't think so as they need to be air tight...the first is on the right lines, but appears to have a hole for a cable running through it...the second would need to be an exact push fit, and then be secured somehow.

I might have found a plumbing solution....rubber bung to go on the outside with a jubilee clip to hold it. I need to go and measure....but the American version is perfect....maybe I've found a new business opportunity as a Bung importer !

Thanks

Looks like a rubber sleeve or bush with a bolt through it. Can you find a short piece of rubber hose or bush the right size and put a bolt through it?

Is this going to have positive or negative pressure behind it and if so how much?

I'd presumed negative as it'a an intake manifold, unless it's got forced induction?

Yes, well found. I actually came up with this...http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PLUMBING-FLEXI-PIPE-FITTING-STOP-END-CAP-CONNECTOR-JUBILEE-CLIP-All-Sizes-/251170227476?var=&hash=item3a7ae98514:m:mtpTIViDdYmqNYNNPcdGgzw

I'm trying to do this mod....

I am planning slightly different, hose routing, and maybe a catch can....but you get the idea, and the use of the bung. I have seen the mod done with mastic, silicon sealant etc....but I'd like the reversible version !

Make damn sure there's no way for anything to come loose on the inside.
