Hi,

How do I remove a broken bleed nipple from a brake caliper. It's seized up and has snapped off flush with the caliper body?

Any ideas?

You could try an "easy out" type extractor, but in my experience they aren't easy & don't get anything out!

Bear in mind also, don't try too hard 'coz if you break the end off you will never be able to do the above & drill it out!

do you know anyone that could pop round and put a blob of weld on it?

otherwise id try hammering in a decent quality torx bit after soaking it in plus gas

This, easyouts tend to be very brittle and snap, either the torx bit will do it or it will need spark eroding frown

Bear in mind that if you snap off an EasiOut in it the exchange boys won't take it. For most cars an exchange caliper is about £60 so the repair kit at £65 is a poor investment unless you do this every week or your exchange is a high value affair. Bashing a Tx socket into it is reversible though, and that's my favourite means of screw extraction. Drill out as much of the remains as you can first.
