So I recently purchased a 2001 Nissan Almera 1.5. The issue I'm having is that I can't open the fuel cap. I know this is an embarassing question but how do do you open it? The hatch opens just fine, I stick the key in - hold the cap with one hand while I turn the key anti clockwise, take the key out but the fuel cap doesn't come off. It just spins in circles. Any advice? I really want to avoid a trip to a garage.

Thanks in advance,

Don't know that car, but all the cars I've used which needed a key to remove the filler cap needed the key to be left in the cap as it was removed.

I've tried turning it with the key in but it just spins, doesn't actually come out.

Try pushing down on the cap (like a medicine bottle cap) some work this way IE the hand grip turns without turning the actuall cap unless pressure is applyed ?
