Which should be more accurate for balancing individual throttle bodies, a STE synchrometer or a Morgan CarbTune? I have both...just getting ahead of myself wink

Manifold pressure at idle (~800rpm) was around 0.45-0.50 bar before fitting the ITBs - no idea what it will be like now (Jenvey LS1 ITBs, bigger cam, heads, etc.).

Looking at images of the 2 devices a lot will depend on the design of the throttle bodies.

The CarbTune would let you be more accurate IF you can connect to your throttle bodies and use it with the engine 'fully assembled'. I use an STE to balance the twin SUs on my car and getting them equal is easy but you do have to remove the air filter to use it - and when you refit you add an additional blockage to flow and have to increase the 2 fast idle screws equally to get the idle back where it should be. If you can use the CarbTune with the air filters on you take out any error of not quite adjusting the idle equally after refitting the air filters.

In reality both will work and get the throttles as equally balanced as makes no difference, especially if you have to remove the air filters to use them both.

Thanks - still got to make the airboxes, so no filtration yet!
