Hi guys,

When topping up the air in my tyres at the petrol station, 3 out of 4 tyres inflated to the specific psi. The 4th didn't seem to take on any air when connecting the pump to the valve and only seemed to deflate very slowly. I feel like this tyre was reason I wanted to top all of them up in the first place, not that it was flat but it wasn't at the optimal pressure.. I tried cleaning the valve and reconnecting again but the net result is that the tyre is relatively flat right now. I have a 250 mile drive tomorrow so am I potentially looking at some last minute tyres or should a valve replacement suffice?

Cheers,
Deaks

Does the tyre valve look like the others?

I ask because I have known the "nipple" of the actual valve be bent by over enthusiastic application of force before.

I would say that the valve doesn't look severely out of place in comparison to the others.

Well, if you can push the "nipple" in & hear air coming out there should be no reason for it not to work unless the inflator wasn't on correctly.

I would value it very low; about 5p.

You'll be well sorted by now, but you probably had a leak somewhere on the tyre. Even the valve itself could have been faulty, but anyhow......
