I've just invested £20 ina CD-ROM copy of the Citroen C5 WSM.

One of my wipers, fortunately the passenger side, has failed. The entire WSM contains four pages on the wiper motor, one on the special tool to remove the arms, one showing where the wipers are (Doh!) and referring to the "Scuttle grille", and one showing the procedure to remove the motor when the grille is removed and you can get at it. The last page advises on reassembly. There is NOTHING about the scuttle grille, the rubber and plastic cover over the base of the windcsreen and wiper motors.
Am I expected to know how to prise it off? When they tell me what and where the wiper arms are, I am expected to be a moron. OK, moron me!

Any advice?
And, any advice on the failure? The arm jerks as the other wiper actuates. They are not linked, as there is a motor on each side, so failed spindle??

Thanks.

That will probably be in the body/trim section.

You may find a small note telling you where, but that will depend on the author.

OK, I am a moron, the 'scuttle grille' is just clips on and off!

So, may I ask what people think? The spindle on the motor does a weak jerk, as the other wiper starts to move. Nothing else.
So not spindle failure.

Motor failure?
Replace with new one? (Yikes! £200??)
Even the second hand ones are from Poland, they are for the right hand side and still£100 plus postage.
And, are the two motors, right and left, the same? A right hand one is advertised, looks to be the same as my left hand one, but can't be sure of the brackets - could use the ones off mine, I suppose.

Can this motor be resuscitated? Advice on how? OR, open wallet and pay up, tight-wad.

If you have it ourt spray it in wd40 and run it on the bench

The only difference and problem with those electronic manuals and haynes (if they make one for that car) Haynes will often explain a way to over come any common and know challenges related to that model

Quite a few on Ebay too (some spares/repairs and some operational). But I'd definitely get it out first and take a look before buying anything.

Tha old one was seized. Lots of leaves etc in the water collection box it sits in, and the alloy its made of was covered in white corrosion. On the other side, nothing like so bad. None available at less than half price, and all from Poland!

So stumped for a new one. Easy install once it's wiggled into place, and I sprayed it well with WD40 befor I did so.
Happy, if poorer bunny!
