I've watched all the episodes of Wheeler Dealers, and in some of them Edd fits a new exhaust. Before he slips the pipes together he smothers it in some blue stuff. I never catch the name on the side of the tube, and I've asked around and no one really knows what it is, they just offer an alternative. But I'm working on my own exhaust system this weekend and I'd like to track down the stuff he uses to see what it's like.

Has anyone got an idea what its called and where to get it?

Exhaust pipe sealant? I believe it bonds the two parts of pipe work together when it gets hot to help form a perfect seal so all the nasty gases go out the end of the tailpipe and not into the cabin of the car.

Any motor factors I would imagine sell it.

That's the stuff, might not be blue but it's better than the sealant I was using before.
