Petrol Mower Stalled On Long Grass - Now No Power
Discussion
I have a single cylinder kohler mower it stalled on long grass - it sounded like a multi cylinder that was only running on one.
It restarted easily but still sounded the same, eventually after playing with the throttle I could start it at low revs and then increase them and it now sounded fine, however as soon as I engaged the blades it either stalled or again sounded like it dropped a cylinder - remembering it only has the one !
As the start of the season it wouldn't start and I cleaned the carb - which wasn't visibly dirty.
It also has a recent plug and filter.
Any suggestions before I change the coil - as I can't see what else there is.

I had similar thing with my Briggs and Stratton, but with a scaffolding clamp left by some roofers. It was difficult to start and ran really rough.
I stripped the top down to find the keyway in the aluminium flywheel had been enlarged by the sudden stop. This put the timing out enough to cause poor running.
