Just recently serviced my friends BMW E87 120i and I couldnt change the spark plugs.

Normally service my own cars and use the tools I inherited from my dad, and normally the spark plugs have standard 6 side nut.

Checked the replacement one for the BMW and it has a different nut. Do I need to buy a special tool to remove the plugs?

Its not found in many sets, yet.

But you need a 10mm bi hex plug socket. Any decent motor factor or shop will sell them. Doesn't fit many plugs/cars.

I haven't encountered plugs like that. Is it definitely bi-hex rather than tri-square?
