VW Passat 2015 Electric problems
Discussion
I am not sure where to post this, I hope someone here can help me.
I have a 2015 VW Passat saloon that I've owned from new. The offside daytime running lamp has developed a fault, it comes up with a yellow warning symbol in the dashboard and a message on the central part of the screen saying 'check right hand daytime running light'.
At first I thought it was the bulb. I changed it and it was okay for a little while then the warning started to come and go on the dashboard (presumably as a contact was being made and broken somewhere).
I am suspecting a problem in the part of the loom that goes into the front skirt but there is only about 6" of wire that I can see or feel and that all appears to be fine, then it disappears out of sight.
When I checked the connections on a meter the bulb holder is getting about 5-6v.
Any ideas as to how I fix this?

Is that without a bulb fitted? No wonder it is reporting a fault. It sounds like a simple wiring fault. To diagnose it you would need to look at the wiring diagram and see where the light is powered from, measure the voltage at the source to confirm it's getting full voltage then methodically work out towards the bulb holder until you find where the break is.
