Help with FZR400 in Bridgwater Area
Discussion
Hey Guys,
I have a yamaha 1988 FZR 400 that I have been working on. I am m looking for a little expert help in exchange for beer etc.. If you are in the brigwater area, somerset area and could spare a little time I could do with someone who knows how to diagnose electrical faults and is good with a multimeter.
Background. Bought the bike as a project "claiming" only the valve timings needed doing and it would not run. i got it running but it smoked a lot. Turns out the cylinder bores/rings were shot . I have refreshed this with new rings and a cylinder bore set from another engine, but when I put it back together It would not even crank. Have replace the battery, starter solenoid and the 11 point relay. And still no cranking. I have checked the starter and this is fine. There is no stand switch, and I have the bike in neutral etc.. When I turn the key I dont get any engine switching/starter at all - yet all the electrics work fine.
Am looking for someone who can help me chase the fault back. I have a large, dry garage with plenty of space/light and a fridge with cold beer in. And any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Paul.
