Hi I have a 16 plate Vauxhall Astra (60k miles) which needs new rear tyres (original) but the problem is they are worn stepped on the inside edge. I’m told this could be down to caster wheel alignment? Does this sound right and how do I get this sorted ? Guess manufacturers warranty would not help ? Local ATS say they don’t have the correct equipment to check Caster ? Jon

The tyre wear does sound like an alignment issue however it sounds more like a camber or toe issue which is much easier to measure and adjust. I would be surprised if there is any caster adjustment available on the front of an Astra

Caster is only relevant to wheels that steer. Unless you have rear wheel steering, the concept of rear caster is non-sensical. Which is probably why the ATS equipment doesn't have that option and why the spanner wielders look blank when you ask them to measure it.

Stop taking advice from whoever suggested that.

If you've done 60k on the original tyre's I wouldn't be worried about being a little unevenly worn could easily just be Corning effects tyre ageing ect
