There's your answer.It might look like sh!t but it is just a bit of metal used to allow a spark to jump a gap, so what it looks like is largely irrelevant provided the spark can jump the gap.
Back in the days of the distributor pre-electronic ignition I have removed distributor caps off working cars when the cap didn't have the centre electrode & it ran perfectly.
What issues does it have?

No real issues apart from it was original from 2005, replace ht leads, dizzy cap and rotor
But in your post you implied you had changed it because it was running badly & it made no difference. “Would the condition it’s in cause bad running or not really”
I probably meant, inefficient running, perhaps
