If you mean the rear view mirror falling off the windscreen, I have used Loctite Glass Bond with success in the past. It needs to be held firmly in place for a few minutes while it sets, though.

I’m sure there are specific double sided sticky pads for that

What car is it?

If there's a mounting bracket (or boss) it will need to be separated from the assembly first. Some bosses will reattach (after a proper cleanup) with a specific 2k adhesive. Others will need a PUR-based fix.

Araldite should work. Sticky pads generally work loose after a while.

You risk cracking your windscreen by using the wrong type of adhesive.

I got some normal double sided tape coated the thing in it and it won’t budge. Surprising as i thought the stuff would be crap with how thin it is.

As above, if installed properly (i.e. follow the instructions!) I had great success - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0001P0DLU/ref=pe_3857...

Years later was still fine when I sold the car.

This has been something that has been bothering us since nippers. Why does Loctite 319 have a warning on the back that it isn’t suitable for use on a Mazda 121 ( as opposed to a Fiesta Mk4 which is the same car...)

Bought some SUMMIT specific mirror sticky pads from Halfoods
They're a bit of foam rubber with sticky goo on either side
The pad worked for all of a day
The failure wasn't the glue to the windscreen or the glue to the mirror mount.

It was the glue to the foam pad that failed smash
Result: Glue left on windscreen, pad stuck to mirror with no glue left on the windscreen side of the pad.
Can I get my money back rolleyes
