My car comes with either 195x15r or 195x16r alloys from the factory.
But I've been eyeing up some 205x16r alloys? would they fit onto the studs?

Depends on where the replacement alloys come from.

The sizes you mention are tyre sizes, not wheel sizes.

Seem like tyre sizes missing profile number. Wheels are usually specced in inches for diameter and width (eg 16x7) and a bead type (J etc) and offset in mm (how far flange face sits from centre line.) It's a combination of tyre and rim specs that make up to how a wheel fits.

Maybe, maybe not, need to be correct stud pattern. Usual format X x YYY. eg 4 x 100 where 4 is the number of studs and 100 is the diameter of the circle the studs sit on. Also going wider may cause tyres to rub on arches depending on width and offset.

Otherwise known as a 2 3/4" square.

Well, that's just unnecessarily confusing smile
