Battery Used Up Test
Discussion
Hello - just had my alternator replaced at a random garage near where we broke down. They said we needed a new battery based on a Battery Used Up test that measured 287A EN against a desired rating of 550A EN. Volts was 12,29V.
I can plenty of info on the voltage which is fine. But I can’t verify the advice that the battery should be replaced based on the 287 measurement versus the desired 550. Can anyone help me determine if I should indeed replace the battery? Thank you in advance for any help

^^^^ Wot 'e said.
They are obviously testing the battery when they know the alternator is defective or just replaced, to be meaningful a battery test should only be conducted on a fully charger battery.
Having said that if it still only gets to 12.29 when then fully charged & stood it is pretty stuffed.
