Battery conditioner.
Discussion
Hello everyone
I have a head scratcher.
My 2000 Boxster S is only used every now and again and when not in use it’s in my garage on a CTEK battery conditioner.
In March the conditioner went into fault mode and when I reset it was showing that the battery would not hold charge.
No problem bought a new battery (£100), All was good couple of long runs back in the garage been there for about 3 weeks since last use and now the conditioner is back into fault mode and not going past the 5th light (battery won’t hold charge indicator).
Any ideas?
Seen some reports of battery conditioners killing batteries.

After about 4 years my CTEK did exactly as you described, Lived with it for a bit until I snapped a lead on the charger so borrowed a friends Noco Genius G3500 charger, just to confirm my battery was OK.
Ended up buying the Noco to replace the Ctek.

Happy days well not so good that I have to get a new conditioner but at least it’s nothing to do with the car 😄Ended up buying the Noco to replace the Ctek.

I have had the CTEK for about 5 years now and it’s been on one car or another every day since, so it’s served me well.
