Best Iphone compatible coding/scanning device VAG vw golf 7

Hi guys just wondering what’s everyone’s using for coding and reading fault codes? Recently bought myself a golf 7R just want to play around with a few of the options, after a quick search seems everybody’s using Carly, VCDS, odbeleven, would I be okay with either of these? Are they all iPhone compatible and I know Carly require a annual subscription fee is that the case with the others too? Ideally I’d like something without a subscription, but not too fussed. I have OBDeleven Pro and it does everything I need. I've used the long coding following instructions off the net without a problem.

iOS is the limitation. I had similar requirements initially. The simplest and cheapest solution was to pick up a 7" Amazon Fire tablet in one of the many Amazon discount deals and use OBDEleven.
