Radiator Fan Temp Switch Peugeot Boxer
Discussion
Does anyone have any idea on where I might find the radiator fan temperature switch on a Peugeot Boxer 2.2hdi please? I've searched Google and spoken to Peugeot who said it was at the top of the fans on the left hand side which it isn't unless it's invisible.
I've just changed the temperature sensor (which hasn't made a difference) as the engine seems to be getting very hot but the temperature gauge only goes to halfway even when standing in traffic I know the fans work as I've tested them but they just do not seem to be coming on so thought I would check the fan switch but just cannot find it.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

That's a good point I'm not 100% sure... there is a fan switch that I can buy online and when I've checked with the Peugeot dealer they've said on the left at the top which it isn't... I was wondering if it was the ecu because the central locking on the key fob isn't working yet I can put the key in the door and the central locking works fine... I did see a sequence to fix an ecu problem which involved putting the windows up and down etc but that didn't seem to make a difference either.
It might just be a coincidence that the central locking isn't working properly I wasn't sure if there was an fault ecu if it would affect this? This is my 2nd vehicle so I had been away for just over a month and when I returned the battery was obviously flat and since charging it back up the central locking doesn't work with the key.
The engine smells and feels unusually extra hot which it hasn't done before and I almost felt like I had a heater on my feet in the cab which I didn't... Basically the engine is getting alot hotter than before.

I suspect putting windows up & down will not help you at all in trying to get your central locking to work.
Many keys these days have a rechargeable battery in which is charged be being in the keyhole when driving & if you haven't driven yours for a while that may sort it out.
Others have replaceable batteries in them, that may help, but don't bother putting your windows up & down.
So, you think your engine is hotter than a month ago, well the temperature outside is hotter than a month ago, could that be part of it?
You say specifically you feel like you have a heater on your feet, is your exhaust just in front of the footwell & have you lost a heat shield?
Has your water level dropped in the engine?
Is your air con on/off, there could be many reasons & only one is a knackered fan switch that you may not have anyway.

The key has a battery in it which I have changed the Peugeot garage recommended a new key fob but that was over £300 and for the sake of unlocking it from a distance I thought that was a bit extreme.
No I've checked and it's not the exhaust.
Coolant is fine no loss there and I have previously run it when the weather has been hot with no issues... I first noticed it about a week ago after driving for about 3hrs during the night when the temperature outside was only 10 degrees so it's not that.
Aircon has been off and the heater works.
