Audi A8 - Name that Engine Part!

A few weeks ago, the driver's side intake manifold was replaced due to the car suffering quite an oil leak. While out today, I noticed a leak coming from a pipe which leads from the new manifold, however im not sure what it is! My best guess is that its a part of the exhaust system given the look of it but that is obviously subject to my glaring lack of experience.

Any helpful PHers able to identify the mischievous part? And how catastrophic (financially) such an item should be to replace? Hopefully ive managed to format this correctly...

Cant post closer up as the file is too large and im not sure how to fix it. However, the leak is from the silver pipe highlighted.

I'm not familiar with that engine, but if it connects to the exhaust at one end and the intake manifold at the other then it might be the EGR pipe and the component at the end would be the EGR mixer valve.

Any input is definitely appreciated. For reference, its a 2005 4.0 TDI
