Citroen C5, 2011. Just had the tyre pressure sensor in left front wheel replaced, as it was indicating "Flat Tyre" when it wasn't. A week later, right rear sensor is doing the same. Pressure good, "Flat tyre" warning.
Are they all going to go?

A search elsewhere has found much evidence that this is a known problem, including complete blowouts on the Mway, as the valves and sensors disintegrate. You would think this is a major recall danger, but Citroen claim they are unaware of a problem.

I would complain to my dealer, and hope for a discount on all four, but they have just gone to another manufacturer, and ain't Citroen delaers no more.

Had yours disintegrated?

Was it just not transmitting anymore? The batteries might just be going flat after 8 years.

No, intact, thank goodness, but blow-out is a worrying idea.

It's quite possible that mine are just running out of batteries, which I don't think are replaceable, without replacing the whole sensor/valve unit. Apart from anything else, mine won't pass the next MoT without working tyre sensors, so I need to do it, if I want to keep it much longer..

As modern cars have become more monitored and with integrated sensor systems, this is going to limit their life more than any deterioration in structure or wear in components.
