I sent it to my mechanic who informed me that there were error codes for air mass sensor, fuel pressure sensor and oil pressure sensor - all of which were changed
MAF - this can be tested with live data from most code readersFuel pressure sensor - can be checked with a gauge
Oil pressure - was the warning light on?
Did he just fire the parts cannon at the car or did he actually do any diagnosis?
Were the error codes still there? Was the fault you reported to him still there?

Thank you for your reply, sorry I should of mentioned the starting problem persists regardless as to whether the engines cold or hot. I can drive it 30 miles, stop for 5 mins then have the same problem again. So I guess this rules glow plugs out?
Possibly, but I'd still check them anyway, as it's quite a cheap starting point. When did it last have new glow plugs? Also check that electrical power is actually getting to the glow plugs when it's needed to.After that it gets a bit more difficult.
Electrical problems are a common pain on Fiats. Sometimes it's a bad connection, so again that's a cheapish check before you go assuming it's an expensive ECU that's the problem. Multiple sensor codes kind of points to a more general electrical issue, such as a poor earth or similar, with the wiring.
Beyond that, hopefully a Fiat expert will show up on here shortly!
Can you let us know the exact model & engine & year etc.
Worth noting that the 1.3 JTD also appears on the Vauxhall Corsa, but maybe I missed which engine yours is.
