Hi guys, literally just took my Honda to a garage for mot and had a few things repaired nothing to do with engine. Got it back drove home and noticed no hot air coming from vents even on max then got home realised the temp gauge on max and a small amount of steam from radiator!
First thing checked radiator had enough fluid which it did and the engine reserve coolant tank which I checked day before mot which was now empty. Refilled it went on another drive where on way back I had hot air (briefly) coming through vents then visibly the temp gauge going up then down very dramatically then by time I got back it was almost at max again! Parked checked levels and they have gone down a tad but well within min/max 🤷🏻‍♂️

I will be taking it back to garage but can’t believe it as it was perfectly fine before taking it there.

Just what did they do to the car?

Either the water pump is not working or you've lost a lot of coolant.

Front wishbones and uplinks so shouldn’t be near it.

Yeah, shouldn't have been. I'd be looking for leaks and checking belts as a first off.

Thanks I’ll see how it goes and take to a garage as not something I can easily find myself

Bleed coolant system. If they have done a coolant change there is likely to be an airlock in the heater matrix. Not a big job and totally DIYable.

I’d start by checking the coolant level
