Trying to work out what I need to know before fitting a Tow bar electric set to my dads car

If it’s old fashioned I’m ok, if it’s new fanged stuff I need a box of tricks

On a CANbus light car, if I remove an indicator bulb will the others flash at the same speed or speed up like in the olden days

The car has no led bulbs from the factory if that makes sense

Thankyou

Erm.

I think
Canbus = no change in flash frequency.
Old Electro-Mech Flasher unit = Change in frequency (due to load change)

What car might help. Somebody may know the best for that model.

Mmmm can't find a diagram

Are you sure lights are on CAN?

Is there another name for an iload?

What year is it?

Nope still can't find any diagrams

Anyway, chances are that adding an extra bulb or LED into any rear light circuit will damage a control unit or send a bulb failure module loopy if the lights are on CAN or have a bulb failure unit in their circuit

Needed to view a diagram to see what's what

These are designed to solve the known issues with adding extra bulbs and include indicator audible warning

There is also this

https://www.towsure.com/smart-7-way-multiplex-can-...

Probably worth contacting the supplier for their opinion

Good luck

Cheers, I’m probably just being lazy. I shall do it properly then I don’t have to worry

First job is 12v to the rear, which I need to do for some other accessories

Thanks again
