Hi I have a Countax C300H the magnetic clutch won’t engage I have run a 12 volt feed from the battery straight to clutch which clicks, so I am assuming that’s ok. The toggle switch on the dash, lights up and I can hear the relay working but that’s it. Fuses are good! Any suggestions

A quick google only suggests the charging circuit.

You should get 14-15v with the engine on, any less will cause issues.

Best of luck!

Why on Earth did you bother posting then?

Yes, I understand the irony.

If you run 12V from the battery to the clutch it should more than 'click' and the engagement should be visible as the lower part moves up (with the engine running you don't notice how loud it is). If it doesn't move then the clutch is faulty, surprisingly common and unless you get lucky you will need a puller to get it off the engine shaft. (I've replaced several over the years so know from bitter experience). Replacements are £50(ish).

I hope this is of more use than some of the other replies!

laugh Not just me who finds that perplexing then!

I figured out that, in the case of Amazon, they sometimes e-mail you to say "Someone has asked a question about...", and some people can't comprehend that they are not being asked directly by the other customer.

Avfew years ago, on a local website in west London , someone posted something like
' I was knocked off my bike by a bus at 8.30 this morning in the high road, did anyone see the incident?'
Some pillock replied ' sorry, I wasn't in the high road at that time'.

What a dhead!

It's like when you post a date for a car meet or something and obscure people post up that they aren't going and why.

Sometimes the diodes on the feed to the clutch go bad, and that will stop the clutch. If you follow the two wires back from the clutch you'll find a heat shrink covered diode.

Switches sometimes go bad in these, and so do the earth (try wiring direct to neg on battery), and so do the circuit boards behind the dash.

I absolutely hate electrical issues on Countax stuff; way more complex than necessary.
