Is there any tech types that can tell me if inner car door weather seals come as self adhesive? Can't get any dealership answers at the moment as they're all locked out.

For example the part below from an MK3 Ford Modeo:

Even the vendor can't answer my question...

Cheers.

On BMWs at least they are stuck on with a mastic strip, I bought some on a 10m reel from ebay iirc

As above, black goo. Think of it as being a similar idea to BluTack but more flexible and more sticky.

Butyl rubber strip.
Think 'very sticky plasticine'.

I know the type. What I need to know, does the black sticky already come pre-applied to the foils in most cases.

For example in the foil below you can see the butyl is already applied:

I really need to speak to the manufacturer.

Ah, gotcha. I think the older type which was not much more than a sheet of (often blue in colour) shaped plastic didn't, but the more modern type of foil like the one you've linked to will.

If you're fitting up a new door then it might be worth ordering a roll of the stuff just in case and just keeping it on the shelf if not needed.
If you're simply rebuilding/improving a door that's already in use then there'll most likely be enough left on whatever remnants of membrane you remove to refit the new one.

But for the relatively low cost, I'd probably still buy a roll of goo to keep in my personal spares department. It seems to be about six quid for four metres of the stuff on eBay.
