Having just had a puncture I'm now in the market for a 12V cigarette lighter tyre pump.

Unlike the one I have now it needs to blow the tyre up a few minutes rather than hours, and importantly it needs a dial where normal tyre pressures take precedence. I find the ones with a mini dial going from 0-250psi a bit daft because 0-35 psi is too close together.

I was thinking possibly this

dial still not great but better than my current one

Any opinions?

I bought a Halfords own make digital one years ago, still works and the gauge appears to be accurate when checked against a calibrated one. Takes a while to fill a tyre from flat but not hours, also depends on tyre size (obviously).

My Evora came as standard with a tiny 'Ring' branded compressor with a digital readout.

I was initially sceptical but it's actually a brilliant little thing and suprisingly efficient

one of these:

This is an excellent price at the moment - I've got one, and they're excellent.

They're robust; They don't rattle and dance around the floor as though they're about to disassemble themselves, and it'll inflate a tyre from flat very quickly, and with little noise / drama.

The gauge is digital, and easily bright enough to see in the day or at night. (It's fairly accurate, too)

It'll inflate to the preset pressure; Nice and easy - And it comes with a press button bleed valve too.

I've got a Goodyear branded one from Costco.

Seems to work well and is made of more metal than plastic so should last a while.

Ring for me also; it's been faultless and I've had it years now:

Measured tyre pressures against a Draper tyre gauge and the Ring compressor unit is as accurate

Another vote for the Ring model over here.

My mother has one, and whilst I was visiting her, asked me to check the pressures on her Fiesta's tyres a while back (before all this COVID-19 business kicked off).

I scoffed when she produced what I perceived to be a useless lump of fragile-looking plastic (the aforementioned 12v Ring tyre inflator), but changed my mind rapidly when I actually used it.

In fact, I liked it so much, I toddled off to check the pressures on my own car with it.

I gave the device back to my Mum, promise. laugh

I've got one of the Ring compressors, works very well and only £16-£17 at Toolstation.
