Ctek max voltage??
Discussion
Asking for a friend- I did a quick search but couldn’t see a similar question and the dealer is closed.
The car manual specifically says don’t use a battery charger with a max voltage >14.8v (battery is non-agm).
Ctek max voltage says 15.8 although only in stage 1 desulphation, or in the optional recond mode. Standard bulk charging is at 14.4v for lead acid (or 14.7v for agm).
Is it safer not to use the ctek or better just to disconnect battery from car before charging (& losing any memory settings?)
Car is an out of warranty 2011 A4 if relevant. Or is the manual just talking arse? On mine I’ve always just wired in the ctek and turned it on, never thinking there could be a max voltage limit...

The warning is about "non-intelligent" chargers. An excessively long charge at a voltage above about 14.7 volts will degrade lead acid batteries - hence the recommendation to avoid the use of high voltage chargers.
A smart charger should be fine.
The car's electronics will be fine below about 16 V.
