Handheld vacuum for car
Discussion
With multiple cars, I’m fed up of lugging a large household vacuum cleaning around to clean them out.
I’m looking for a good handheld vacuum which lasts ideally 15mins, can get down side of seats and picks up grit. If it can be used around the house occasionally even better. Any sensibly priced recommendations? Would rather keep it to £50 if possible.

You couldn't get the battery for it with £50. You will need to seriously up your budget to get a decent cordless hand held machine. A Dyson v6 can be had for around £150 new or a bit less refurbished. They do a fairly good job in the car and are good around the house too. My daughter uses mine to clean her car. I use a 20 year old Rowenta wet and dry machine with a 1300watt motor. It can suck the floormats out of the car but is still light to carry around.
A. Cordless just aren't very good.
B. Because the sucking end is far nearer the handle than a traditional cylinder hoover, I've always found them vastly inferior in terms of access.
I'd buy the renowned Titan wet/dry vacuum from Screwfix for £50 and leave it in the garage. They are absolutely the best rough hoover for the money; had one for at least a decade, and it has had everything from plaster dust to gravel to soil to welding splatter to chainsaw chippings through it and it still works perfectly. You can use it with or without a bag. Ace.

The £50 Makita one isn't bad for the money - that's excluding charger and battery though. It's a decent option if you already have them for power tools.
Got to agree with this.Best cordless Vacuum going for £50
Does inbetween Wooden Floors (why I bought it) and cars. Using the extension tubes.
Very powerful and very well made. No cheap feel about it.
Depending on which size battery you have it goes for 45 minutes. All my Hand Tools are Makita so I had lots of batteries!
Thanks folks. I will still use a proper vacuum for the big cleans. Just want something I can quickly run around the car every week or so. Having a BMW with the seat squab which moves out stuff gathers quickly which irritates me!
The Makita sounds good but I have none of their kit. Roughly speaking how much are the batteries etc?

I’d second the Titan shop vac. It’s on casters, and the hose is long enough that you’re only supporting the weight of that whilst you’re actually using it. Once you get one you’ll wonder how you got on without it.
The fact that you can put the hose on the outlets port and use it as a high volume blower has come in handy a few times as well.
