current drain measurement with an amp clamp using millivolt output to a multimeter

Clamp measures at scale of 1mV = 100mA

Multimeter reads 5.3mV so 5.3 x100 = 530mA drain

530mA = (approx) half an amp?

Thought I was going mad at one stage confusing my decimal places!

500mA was the drain until the car "went to sleep" after about ten minutes, it's now dropped to 45mA.
