I have a Honda stepwagon rg 2006 petrol , only imported a few months ago.

It ran out of petrol , luckily coasting into a safe parking place .

I put about 5 litres in , no luck then another 5 litres . Still nothing .

So I tried priming the fuel pump by turning key to position 2 and waiting and repeating many times . It doesn’t work . When I turn the key I can hear the fuel pump make a high pitch noise so I believe it’s still working electronically . It sounds like it will almost start , the battery is drained from trying now .

Is there anyway to reset the fuel injectors or a way to know if the fuel lines are clogged up with st ?

I have limited cash at the moment cus of covid , I can’t work . so I can’t afford a garage repair if it’s more than around £200 , I don’t want to embarrass myself by not being able to pay them

Is there anything I can try ?

Put a decent amount of fuel in.
I appreciate money being tight but £10 may not be enough.
If you’ve only got a 5 litre can best get you walking shoes on and fill it another couple of times

Use aerosol Easy-Start (other makes are available - try Halfords stores) sprayed into air intake. Car starts on the ether (or whatever) and, with luck, will give the injection system a chance to start doing its stuff with the petrol.

Can take a surprising amount of time & cranking to get fuel back through after running out & I think that's your problem.

Some pumps will run for a few seconds after the ignition is turned on but many will only work if the engine is cranking.

Sometimes a squirt of easystart or similar will run the engine just long enough to get fuel through. (Cliftonite posted while was composing this smile)
