Can anyone help?

After removing and then refitting my car battery the alarm went off and wouldn't respond to the fobs, it then self locked and locked me out.
It's a Clifford concept 50x which I had fitted in 1998, it came with a lifetime warranty.
I have found the unit, checked fuses. The alarm is armed and still not responding to the fobs or valet code, it still works as when the bonnet or boot are opened it sets the alarm off.

I have found out that it could have had a voltage surge and that the fobs need reprogramming to the alarm but I can't find contact details for Clifford and my local fitter has advised me to bin it and fit a new one.

Old car alarms are more trouble than they're worth.

Do you actually need an aftermarket alarm on your car?

Possibly uses a rolling fob code and has gone out of sync

Should be some reset info online

Try disconnecting the car battery and reconnecting again. Then immediately put the alarm into valet mode.

yes, if you have a Ford Fiesta, BMW, etc - all easy targets
