Hi
Hoping someone can help... I recently installed a new speed sensor (front passenger) on a 2011 infiniti M30D. I had to drill the old one out so its in bits. Only problem is I'm still getting an ABS sensor error. If I clear the codes using an OBD2 then the light stays off for about 100 metres then comes back on. What ive noticed is if I choose live data on the OBD2 all the speed sensors give roughly the same speed, including the front passenger. But for some reason it will randomly drop from say 40MPH to 25MPH only for a split second but that seems to be enough to cause the error. Anyone have any ideas why its doing this, like i said i did drill the old one out so could it be that Ive damaged the hub
Thanks for any help
Mike

Wiring fault comes to mind, check vehicle side of ABS loom close to the wheel causing the fault

Check the condition and 'square-ness' of the exciter ring on the hub.

Have you checked the wheel bearing? I have no experience of your car, but on many others (especially Land Rover), a dodgy wheel bearing can throw up an ABS sensor warning.

That's a good call. A rusty/corroded/flaky/loose exciter ring will cause you problems. Are all the teeth on it OK?

Visual first to check for cable damage

With ABS ECU disconnected, continuity test from vehicle side sensor plug to ECU plug while having someone move the cables, waggle test

Follow above advice first though, make sure all is mechanically good

I just took the wheel off to have a look behind and I've damaged the cog by the looks of it. Does anyone know if that can replaced or if the entire hub needs to be replaced

That reluctor is part of the bearing, I would assume the bearing comes as a complete hub.
