I'm looking around for some options for a mobile toolbox. I don't want one of those things that has a sissor action from the top. I want something with drawers like a traditional top box may have. I just don't want something full width as a typical topbox which are often >700mm wide. I need to be able to have this either in the boot of a car in a van. The reason I want this is a normal topbox will be way to heavy to move around so want something about half the width.

Been looking at a Clarke CBB209B HD Plus but at that size it is too big for mobile use and I'll never move it when got a few tools in it.

Anyone seen something like this?

I don't think I've seen one without a cantilevered top, I used to have this Halfords one which stood up to lots of abuse very well, especially for the price:

The drawers were a bit rough as they weren't ball bearing runners, but for £30 it's still going 10 years later in my Dad's hands.

Many thanks, that is probably the way to go actually. Possibly a bit flimsy but the price is low.

Redgta,
Consider a MotaMec tool box?

Each box snaps onto the one below, some contain internal trays. Altogether they wheel about like a wheeled suitcase and stand, or lie, as one block.

How much do you need to carry in it? Clarke do a 3 drawer unit in the same range as the one you've listed, think it's about £80.

£1100? Jesus. How often are you going to throw it in the sea?

Tony, did you bother to raed thre OPs post? He was considereng one of these:

to go in his van. He would have to lift and cary that about, but the Motamec can be wheeled about.
You really should use your eyes before you open your mouth.
