Hi I have a 1.3 cdti that has given me quite a few problems lately first the dpf blocked and wouldn't regen, this has been replaced.

Then it was juddering at 2000rpm which I diagnosed as the EGR and replaced which fixed the juddering but straight away I had very low boost (showing about 8psi with torque pro and about 150 kpa in vauxcom which doesn't add up to me) and P0243-7 code coming on, my first thought was the actuator but I can move it with a screwdriver and if I bridge the vacuum hoses the actuator moves freely.

I have checked the boost pipes I can't see any and if I cover the intake the car stalls so although I can't guarantee it doesn't have a boost leak it seems unlikely, I replaced the boost control solenoid which made no difference I have cleaned the MAF sensor and the MAP sensor but don't really want to start throwing loads of money at it for it not to work.

If I rev the engine the actuator doesn't move but I'm unsure if this is because it's not under load, and I'm unsure if the actuator is supposed to move when the engine is started.

If I unplug the boost control solenoid I get 13v whilst the engine is running but only .3ish whilst it's plugged in.

I've looked online most point to the actuator or any of the sensors but most seem to be overboosting.

8psi of boost would correspond to an absolute pressure of about 150kPa.

DPFs are usually designed to be maintenance free - if it blocks it's usually because of some other problem, so pointless to replace it until you have resolved that other problem. Perhaps the other issues you've fixed since were the cause.

You seem to be chasing an actuator problem now. I don't know which actuator you're referring to, but if it seems to work when you apply vac/pressure then perhaps the problem is that it isn't receiving vac/pressure. Maybe a line left off, blocked with dirt, kinked or crushed against something during the other work you've had done.

Your right about the 8psi/150kpa I was having a moment.

The actuator just opens the wastegate but I'm unsure if it should be full boost with no vacuum or no boost. I can't see a line let off on the actuator.

The waste gate would typically be sprung closed and have boost pressure connected to the bottom port pushing it open. That might go via a boost controller which only passes boost pressure to the actuator when boost pressure has reached a target. Some boost controllers also apply pressure to a top port holding the wastegate closed. I don't think OEM boost controllers usually do that, though.
