Old reversing lamp wiring, single wire
Discussion
I have 2 lamps the same and this

I found them clearing out my fathers shed, they are like new and I wouldn’t mind making a bedside light out of them because they look great and it would be a good thing to remember my old man with.
But it has a single wire coming out of it? How would I wire this up to work like a normal lamp?

depending on the voltage and power requirements of your lights (pop them open and check the writing on the bulbs) something like the below wall plug would be perfect.

Get a ring crimp and bolt the neutral onto the thread and connect the live to the single wire (can even use an inline switch to make it easier to turn on and off).

That’s the exact type of thing I was thinking about, I was just wondering how phone chargers have 5v coming from their plugs so a 12v must’ve available somewhere!https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/ac-dc-adapters/2008...

Thanks for this? Perfect!
