Apologies if in the wrong section.

Hello, I bought a civic two weeks ago and the past few days I have noticed when I first start the car and pull away there is a squealing noise for a few seconds. It seems to only do it when the engine has been off a while, over two hours or so. It goes off after a few seconds and I don't hear it again. Any ideas what it could be? Should I take it back to the garage ask for cash back? It had a new alternator belt apparently before I bought it.

Get the new belt re-tightened.

Cannot day for sure without hearing it but I strongly suspect it is the auxialiary drive belt which drives the alternator and things like the aircon and power steering (depending on car).
Quite a common fault and fairly easy to fix. Get the belt tightened.

To prove it, spray some water on the belt. See if the noise changes or goes temporarily
