Transmission Solenoid for Auto Suzuki Swift

Wife's Swift (2007, 1.5 GLX) auto often struggles to go into drive, neutral or reverse and it is likely the transmission control solenoid is on it's way out.

Is this an easy enough DIY job to replace and where might be the best place to purchase this part other than from Suzuki dealer?

I don't know the Swift well but replacing transmission solenoids isn't particularly hard. It is messy though. Probably 1-2 hours for someone who knows what they are doing. Check Youtube for tutorials, and you can get the part number from the internet. Usually replacements available on ebay/Amazon. You will also need the right ATF and a new transmission pan gasket.
