Audi coolant vacuum filler - really needed?
Discussion
My 2013 A6 is throwing low coolant warning. Its at max... so I assume its the sensor which is part of the bottle and cant be replaced so I need to replace the bottle.
Now, I have had the car a few years so I guess it would be a good time to change the coolant at the same time.
I have seen on youtube that to get it full again you should use a coolant vacuum filler. Is this really required?
I have a compressor so thats not an issue but I dont wnat to spend £50-£70 on a tool I am probably never going to use again.
Am I going to run into troubles if I try and do it the old way, burping the system as it fills?

Just been through the same on my 996. It’s rads are at the front and the engine at the back so lots of pipes and a huge capacity. The threads on here and the Porsche forums all said to use one.
I paid less than £30 for it on amazon though. Nothing like £70?! What I will say is it was so easy to use, not faffing with bleed nipples etc. So convenient, I think I’ll use it to change coolant when due on my other cars instead of paying a garage.
If you’re in the east mids you can borrow it if you like.
