knocking from front of car

hi i have a 2008 ford fiesta 1.4 tdci..

every time i press the gas pedal down, there is a noticeable single knock.

this happens in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears, not in 4th or 5th.

it isn't just when changing gears, it's every time the gas pedal is pressed.

took it to 2 mechanics, and after almost a week at each place, neither have any clue what it is. they said it sounds like it's coming from behind the dashboard.

any ideas?

Don't you mean the oil pedal?

As for the knock, probably a worn engine mounting.

"ford fiesta single knock" brings up a lot of posts on various Ford forums. Have a read through them, or take it to a Ford Indie (assuming you took it to a normal garage).

Both mechanics said my engine mounts are slightly worn, but it's definitely not that.
