Mrs warch's 6 yo Qashqai has got a faulty touch screen, it keeps bringing up the message- Continuous touch detected. please remove object from screen. The screen is unmarked, the display is fine and is functional, I just can't use the touch screen, so the sat nav for example is unusable.

I've cleaned the screen manually, including using a bit of card to investigate the edges hidden by the faceplate. I've blown the screen out with air, and then removed the entire headunit, separated the screen from the faceplate and cleaned the screen. I've reset the unit. None of this has made any difference.

The question is; where do I get it fixed or alternatively obtain a new screen (assuming this is the problem). Ebay is fully of slightly dubious looking headunits, not sure I want to pay 50-100 quid for something which may have the same issue. I'd have thought there'd be a few specialists dealing in this sort of thing, I am based in the West Midlands/Welsh borders.

Is there such a thing as a factory reset as it possibly could be a software glitch???

Possibly. I haven't tried that yet.

Bosch offer a fixed repair Service for 400 Euro but has to go through a Garage and will be temporarily suspended for Brexit.

Somewhere like this may be able to help

Have never used them myself. Just have an interest and a bit of experience in this sort of thing with a Nissan/Clarion Unit.

Thank you Imck. I will try the factory reset thing Matt suggested, then look at repair or replacement. I'm thinking a software glitch rather than a mechanical issue, the screen itself looks clean and unmarked.
